Book Piracy receives media attention

The Frankfurt Book Fair last week was the hub of media attention with the launch of the new Amazon Kindle e-book reader outside of the US.

Jens Bammel, Secretary General from the International Publishers Association was interviewed on Channel Four news last Sunday in regards to the issue of online book piracy. He stated " Our costs have nothing to do with the physical costs of the paper world. It is the added value we (publishers) create that needs to be returned"

Publishers have learnt from mistakes that the film and music industry have encountered, however there is still a need to find a root to the problem of people thinking that there is nothing wrong with illegally downloading free content.
